I’m one of those union organizers. Nice try, everything you said is bullshit. AQAU is the largest video game union in the country, and the 2nd largest tech union in North America. ZWU is 3rd. We can’t be replaced. We unionized because it was already happening. Now they have to bargain with us.
Sorry, I sometimes forget that other folks aren’t as close to this as I am. Microsoft signed a legally binding card check labor neutrality agreement with the Communications Workers of America, an international union serving the US and Canada. Under the terms of the agreement, all management must remain neutral in regards to unionizing and must direct questions about unions to worker organizers. Additionally the neutrality agreement also means that when workers petition for recognition, the company will voluntarily recognize the union after a 2 week card check vote (union authorization card signatures and direct yes votes together count for yes)
This one has gone far too long without their share of the brain cell. I love them
Excellent, first the workers at Activision immediately jump on the neutrality agreement, and now a second group of Zenimax workers are immediately testing their neutrality too. Gotta love it. It certainly feels weird that the biggest company in the world is labor neutral
This article covers it well, including the fact that specific battery chemistries are trade secrets.
For battery tech nerds like me, the battery is a more efficient lithium-iron battery, called Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate or lmfp. It has a theoretical energy density of 525Wh/L, compared to normal lithium-iron theoretical density of 325Wh/L
That’s extremely dependent on the use case, but in my opinion, generally no. However CAMM has been released as an official JEDEC interface and does a good job at being a middle ground between repairability and speed.
If you allocate it right, you can add 200GB of swap space and then that 4GB of RAM will feel like 408GB!
There are real world performance benefits to ram being as close as possible to the CPU, so it’s not entirely without merit. But that’s what CAMM modules are for.
Cold war politics is more important than the surveillance state.
It did, but not because the workers in Sweden pulled Norway along. The workers in Norway knew that if they didn’t stand in solidarity with their fellow workers then, then Tesla would try the same shit with them. In the US, those strikes are technically illegal (not criminal) but still happen anyway. I helped organize a walkout for CWA, and by getting the word out the teamsters showed up with equipment and we had 2 other local presidents come join us on the picket line.
That’s awesome! I’d be curious to know which industrial union they’re a part of, I love learning about labor movements in other countries. I’m from the US so when I say unionize, it’s more comparable to a worker council. But the crazy shit you might have heard about like captive audience meetings, firing organizers, and anti-union onboarding absolutely happen. It’s an uphill battle for sure.
Believe it or not, but I’m an organizer. I believe that too many people think unionizing just happens to workers, rather than workers forcing it to appear to protect themselves. IKEA is international. Swedish coworkers can’t defend workers in the US, US workers have to demand they’re treated the same as their Swedish coworkers.
Very nice. If anyone here works at IKEA, just know that unless you unionize those things can disappear just as easily.
A title is just something a company calls a particular job. A role is what that job actually is. So a lot of jobs might be called “QA engineer”, but not fitting the intended role
I’m thinking of it not as a title, but a role. Often times the 2 are not related
The study doesn’t count because it’s hamas
What options does the community have? Was there no RFC by the park board?
