The steam version of Cyberpunk is slightly different to the GOG one because CD Projekt Red gave Valve previewed access to the code to ensure it would work with Proton. That said, I’m not sure why any changes have not been rolled into the GOG release.
What you are describing sounds like a memory leak or some kind of graphics option causing problems. Could the game be using a feature that your graphics card drivers are configured to use?

Inshallah

Imagine borking your OS so hard you need to give your mobo electroshock therapy
Provided I can still use about:config to clear out all the Mozilla crap then I’m happy with Firefox. The only add-on I use is ublock-origin on my phone and also NoScript on desktop.

IRC with tor or i2p should fit the bill. On mobile you can use orbot to have the tor service running in the background and then configure your IRC client to use the correct port (5050? Can’t quite remember).

Rockstar had a similar scandal firing unionising workers last year

Hidden gem in the sense that it sold extremely poorly on release. It’s become a cult classic since then so probably not “hidden” for people interested in retro games.

It was definitely quality over quantity vs the PlayStation. One year after I got a bonus I bought the resident evil 2 port for it because I find the fact that it exists to be miraculous; they had to do some wizardry to fit the 2 CDs into one cartridge with 64MB.

All killer, no filler - well done OP!
If you ever expand your collection then Conkers Bad Fur Day is a bit of a hidden gem which came at the end of the consoles lifecycle.

As in which version to buy? There’s an unreal engine remaster called Reload which is a full remake of the PS2 game and then a PSP port. The former has improved gameplay and the latter is like a VN with the dungeon crawling as the unvarnished original. PSP port does have exclusive content in terms of a female MC alternative story but I’d say that was for real enthusiasts

UFO50 is good value even when it isn’t on sale imo. So much content crammed into it!

I had fun with Hellblade 2. Doesn’t overstay its welcome. Not sure how I felt about the ending but it was memorable

Unless they can make Proton performance work emulating both the windows environment layer and a different CPU arch then I’d be very surprised to see this happen.

Switch 2 is selling at a faster rate than Switch 1 did at this stage in its lifecycle. The OG Switch is on track to be the best selling console of all time.
I’d imagine that this is entirely happening because xbox has collapsed amongst Microsoft loudly conceding this console generation and heavily suggesting future support for their consoles will be limited. This is catastrophic in an era when many people buy digital copies of games and do not want to be locked in to a dead platform. I bought a 2nd hand Series S as a budget console but will only buy games for it on deep discount or if they have a low sticker price; the result of that has been that it has turned into a retro games platform for me to play SSX3 and the old Dead Or Alive games.
PS5 Pro is too expensive for limited gains while the market for the OG PS5 will be saturated by this point. I’d guess that the release of GTA6 will increase sales next year though.
My pixel 1 phone was fine. Went back to Samsung after that though.

One reason is that the coreutils in Linux use a lot of hacky or hard to read tricks to improve performance. OpenBSD explicitly wanted to make their source code more legible. FWIW I prefer the Linux approach.

Game dev is predatory because people can and will do it for free. Many “dream jobs” have this issue.
Aside from bug/issue spam where maintainers are stuck dealing with bogus problems raised by LLMs and posted by lazy humans, I don’t think there ought to be an issue. Maintainer burnout is no joke though; a bad day topped off with a bogus bug report might be the straw breaking a camel’s back.
The other issue is licensed code with stricter copy left protections can be stolen for training data and unwittingly regurgitated into a code base elsewhere. Unfortunately this would require lawyers to actually bring these cases to court, which is not happening at the moment. Seems more manageable as an issue though since there is a path to resolving it. I think I need to make an EFF donation to help with that process.
