I was wondering if those are places where they wanted to control suppress the vote, too, like in Minneapolis.

I think you missed the point of that part of the performance. Bb was not waving the flag for statehood, he was waving the light blue flag for an independent Puerto Rico… Just after Ricky Martin sang a song about how Hawaii got screwed by statehood and they don’t want that to happen in Puerto Rico (from DTmF).
It’s not about statehood. It’s about separating from the United States. Totally anti-colonial with all that sugar cane, too.

He was waving the pro-independence Puerto Rican flag (light blue) and Ricky Martin was singing a song about the shit that happened in Hawaii after they got statehood… Is that naughty? Mm I liked it.
(There was also a lot of twerking, but somehow I don’t think that’s the actual source of the complaints.)

Screen sharing is a big deal for games.

I didn’t have civics in my school. This may also be why we are doomed.

Any idea how polling protection groups will work this time around? I’m not really sure what it means to nationalize voting, nor the extent of what it means to have ICE outside of polling locations.
Edit: I’m looking into joining up with a group to protect the polls this midterm.

Curious as to why Common Dreams and others aren’t using the term “Internment Camp”? I’m not trying to whitewash the present, but it does seem to me that a large number of people might feel that term “concentration camp” is a dramatization of the current situation. “Internment” is also awful but less loaded, and might get more people on board and thinking about this seriously. Thoughts?
Edit: Upon looking it up, I have a few thoughts. One, some say “internment camp” was white washing in the first place. Two, “internment camps” might specifically refer to U.S. Army run concentration camps during wartime. I’m still not really clear, though, and would love some additional insight.
One more: I thought redlining also conveyed purposeful impediments to black home ownership, like in the refusal of mortgage applications.

I also did just now. The big yellow button said “Buy it for free” hah!

… Can NC join… Just the little peninsula of western NC?

I think it’s more like NOOOO.

Unions AKA organized labor often call for strikes. Our unions have been systematically undercut in the US, and as such, we have a very limited ability to organize ourselves in collective action.

You all are missing the point. The Govt has systematically dismantled our labor unions, and labor unions typically call for strikes. It’s not about convenience: It’s about the ability to organize and the guarantee of a number of people participating.
Edit: sorry chillidog, i meant this as a response to the person above you.

I looked it up. These were anti-union laws. I think about how quickly the French can strike, but remember that it’s four to five giant labor unions that always call for them to happen. We’re in dire straits here in the U.S!
Sign a strike card??? https://www.generalstrikeus.com/

We in the US do not wear red hats anymore… Excepting those who are completely fucked in the head.
My dad got a red ballcap, and I told him he probably shouldn’t wear it outside lest people think the wrong thing about him. Nobody wants to encourage the loonies.

I fart run. But golly had to stop in front of someone’s house and didnt realize they had a security camera trained on the road…

This is weirdly similar in many ways to Dungeon Crawler Carl. Dwindling numbers of people, digging ever deeper… Different in most other ways, but I’m a little obsessed right now.

Life is risky. You should probably go outside today without fearing that a meteor will strike you… And so should that cat. By all means, take reasonable precautions, but your comment is over the top.

Watch out for Made In Abyss. It starts off really cheery and gets super fuckin dark. I couldn’t make it past the first season.
Just responding to the last part: I’d say anti-colonial basically is anti-corporate. Look at the Dutch East India Company.
