I think it’s the same reason games offer a cash shop for things you can get in-game. Sure they’re making billions but why not billions plus ad revenue? I don’t agree with the practice but the answer always comes back to money.

I hopped between distros for a long time. Before writing Linux off I suggest giving MX-Linux a shot. I’ve been loving it. It’s super solid. My only issue with it is that I can’t seem to get the right power settings set for closing my laptop but it’s probably something I’m doing wrong.

I’m not sure what you’re getting at. I bought every version of every game since the first one and pirated the Japanese versions before they were localized. G rank wasn’t something you had to pay for until the games I mentioned. It was either in the game or it wasn’t. I’m not interested in having an argument though so I’ll just see myself out of this weird pseudo-argument.

I’ve been a fan of Monster Hunter since the PSP and somehow completely forgot that it was made by Capcom. I was already a bit peeved that they moved G-rank behind a paywall and a year of waiting but now I’m nervous that you may not be super far off. People already think that the game has a desire senser and with AI being what it is today it wouldn’t be very hard to sell a ‘premium carving knife’ with charges on it to get that Gem or Plate you need to finish your set.

I played briefly at launch and stopped until about 2 months ago and picked it up again. I had a ton of fun. They fixed (almost) all of my gripes.

Got the deck dock on the living room TV and use it to both chill-game and have the kids Skype with grandma and grandpa.

And I bought it once. I think that’s a fair trade.

Not to hijack from the OP, but would you change your reply if someone was feeling similarly but wasn’t yet in their first role yet? I’m coming out of 2 years of private mentorship and have spent the last almost 3 months applying with barely a whisper of a reply from a fraction of these jobs so I’m a bit down on myself. I felt confident a month ago but now I’m slinking back applying to jobs in my old industry.

I did some tweaking that I found online somewhere for host/client settings and since then, no not really. I’ve made sure that the host is wired in and I’m working on getting the deck dock wired in too but my house is old and not easily cat5-able. It doesn’t look GREAT most of the time but it’s pretty passable. I know you didn’t ask about undocked but with the smaller screen it definitely clears some stuff up and looks a little nicer.

Quick preface, this isn’t meant to be disrespectful or confrontational, I’m genuinely curious, but what are you playing while docked? I bought the dock and have only a tiny bit of buyer’s remorse because I feel like anything put up on the big screen is so low quality that it’s not even worth it and just either stream it from my PC to Deck or play on the PC directly. I admit I may be doing something wrong, I don’t have the time to fiddle with it to optimize.
