What kind of odd take is this. I agree Barbara Lee won’t accomplish much in an interim mayor seat but she’s mostly beyond reproach and definitely speaks for me!
This is such an unbelievably bad take.
First, Musk has always been a tool, a nepo baby, and an asshole. Just because American liberals only recently noticed this doesn’t mean he used to be great.
Second, this isn’t the case of Starlink being State owned and controlled, it’s the case of the State being Starlink owned and controlled. That’s what was happening in Ukraine and what will continue to happen. If you think for a second that Musk is beholden to anything or anybody I’ve got a rusty polygon ridden death trap to sell you.
Obviously you need lots of GPUs to run large deep learning models. I don’t see how that’s a fault of the developers and researchers, it’s just a fact of this technology.
In deep learning generally open source doesn’t include actual training or inference code. Rather it means they publish the model weights and parameters (necessary to run it locally/on your own hardware) and publish academic papers explaining how the model was trained. I’m sure Stallman disagrees but from the standpoint of deep learning research DeepSeek definitely qualifies as an “open source model”
Ughhh that was my fear. Haven’t built a desktop in probably 20 years. I definitely worry about the time sink mostly in deciding every component, researching if it’ll work with linux, sourcing it, hoping it’s authentic, etc. Any recent guides you could recommend if I have to go down that route?
The National Rosie the Riveter museum in Richmond California (a stone’s throw from Berkeley, SF, Oakland, etc) removed an LGBT exhibit. They also weren’t told to do it but did so proactively so as not to fall afoul of Trump’s anti DEI order.
Snoop is worth ~160M he could definitely have turned down this gig
Also met my wife on there. Together for a decade now, 6 year wedding anniversary this spring. Iirc we were a 99% match. Which in hindsight is funny because even though our moral sensibilities and lots of our interests/hobbies are very aligned personality wise we are very different (but complementary for sure)
Good to hear thanks. And proton has worked well for 6? (Steamdeck i assume is using proton not native linux?). We still play V, when they broke mac/windows crossplay I had to install bootcamp to continue playing with my friends. But the family iMac I did that on definitely won’t run 7, so was looking into building a linux tower I could use instead and would strongly prefer not to deal with windows.
Any confirmation of linux/windows crossplay?
Only game I’ve played this year. Hundreds of hours though (I have a few friends who I play with usually weekly)
Ahh sorry I get our misunderstanding now. I meant as an analogy, for an individual your total income is like revenue is for a company (i.e., money in, not accounting for expenses out). AFAIK the payment to Trump came from Meta not from Zuck.
I think personal income is more akin to revenue than profit. If you bring in 100K then you pay out rent, food, expenses, etc and only profit 30K or whatever you manage to save.
It’s 0.0007% of their 2023 revenue. 0.002% of their 2023 profit. To put into realistic terms, if you made $100K it would be like giving 70 cents.
Maybe he was just practicing what he preached? https://marshallbrain.com/youve-had-your-turn-the-case-for-euthanizing-everyone-at-age-65
Same here. Sonic fiber and I’ve had 0 issues. Pay less now than I did for much much slower cable internet before and I think we’ve had 1 maintenance and 1 outage in the last 4 years. Just checked speed test on my modem and it 941 down 942 up.
How old are you, if you don’t mind me asking? I’m 40, started paying attention to politics in the Clinton years and then really paying attention with Bush v Gore in 2000. America was full on neolib vs neocon bullshit back then, a quarter of a century ago. The 2nd Iraq War was a big moment for me of realizing that the only thing America stands for is corporate hegemony. Project 25 is no different than the Project for a New American Century, and the “opposition” from the “left” isn’t fundamentally against any of it, they just pay a bit more lip service to culture issues (which are of course important if you aren’t a cis white christian male, but they are clearly not enough).
Tl;dr
I got excited thinking there was DS9 content i hadn’t seen
Do you live here? There are major population centers on both sides of the bridge (Richmond on one end, San Rafael on the other) and the Ohlone trail + Richmond Greenway means you can ride a bike from Emeryville all the way to the bridge quite easily.
That said it’s a beast of a commute to ride. I’d say 90% of the bikers I see on there aren’t using it to commute but are using it for exercise/pleasure cycling. I do see about 10% of bikers on ebikes that could make this a viable commute.
