Yet we keep the filibuster around because republicans use it to block progressive legislation, and centrists like being able to point to republicans and be like “It’s their fault!” When all it would take to pass anything democrats want is 50 votes to kill the filibuster for good. But they know they have people who will try endlessly to pivot to mcconnell in order to defend democrats’ inaction.
