Still a bit alpha, but looks promising. Several features seem to be waiting for atproto implementation.
the entropic logo at the bottom is not giving me optimistic emotions
Or Fluxer, which is further along and not reliant on the crap from Bluesky.
Fluxer has plans to federate and use E2EE by default, and they’re making self-hosting a lot easier now too, on top of being FOSS. The audio and screen streaming are already on-par with Discord and they have almost 500k users. The main Dev is in the chat talking to users every day, delivering the most requested features.
Also, Check it out if you haven’t
I’m trying to get my friends to join me on Fluxer, away from Discord. I haven’t even tried the audio on Fluxer yet. 😔
But it’s good to have several alternatives to Discord, at least eventually. 👍
They are redoing the audio and video stuff at the moment.
Who, Fluxer?
Was there something wrong with those two things, that made them want to “redo” them?

I should follow their development more closely. Seems like they’re doing killer work! Thanks for that link!
Fluxer doesn’t have E2EE, use Matrix, which is much further along due to existing since 2014
Matrix :(
So many unsolved ux issues
Yeah and then the non-tech gamers get locked out and don’t have their back up code and bitch that they should just go back to discord “because it just works”.

Or Sable (Matrix), which is further along and not reliant on the crap from Bluesky.
Thanks for the pointer, I hadn’t heard of Sable before.
I’m over here maintaining a teamspeak server. 😶🌫️
What’s the AI policy? I hate even bringing up AI since I’m so sick of hearing about it but what I want to know is that is this just an AI generated project that was generated over a weekend and will be quickly abandoned or does it have active thoughtful development? I couldn’t tell from the website or commit logs
It’s impossible to tell if projects are worth investing time into these days and it kills me inside :(
They seem to be adding a policy based on https://ai-policy.dev/policies/human-responsible/
https://github.com/colibri-social/colibri.social/pull/170 (PR author is the project lead)
As somebody with somewhat pro-AI views, I think this is quite reasonable. If you prefer projects with absolute AI bans, this is not what you’re looking for probably.
YOU OWN YOUR DATA.
Thanks website for lying to me.
It’s their data now.
Why do you think it lied to you?
I run zulip with a jitsi meet integration https://consort.chat/
