  • I think its dependent on their base. I firmly believe Beto O’Rourke would have unseated Fled Cruz if there wasn’t an emotional sound bite of him saying “Hell yeah we’re taking your guns!” After a WalMart in his hometown was shot up.

Ted Cruz (and Greg Abbott in the ensuing gubnatorial election) both played the FUCK out of that clip, and Beto lost both elections but only by a slim margin.

I’m not a 2A person, but I personally think if there was someone progressive like AOC or Bernie Sanders AND they touted gun ownership, they would be a winning candidate every single time.

  • I used to do this when we had more than one dog. I also like to say “Don’t play too much Nintendo, clean your rooms, and I left a twenty on the counter for pizza when you get hungry” because I like to pretend its still 1996.

I’ll keep the orange tip in mind for when my last old girl eventually crosses the rainbow bridge, because I definitely want cats next after having doggos for the past 15 years.

  • Maybe I’m more optimistic than I should be, but I kind of think its less of a “this affected me and now its a problem” and more of a “this affected me, it sucked, and now I dont want it to happen to anyone else”.

Like, of course she should have woken up sooner, but she could have suffered, been quiet about it, and just let it happen to other people as well. Maybe Im not as cynical as I thought I was.

  • As someone who lived in Texas for a decade, I was fully prepared for the US to abandon me after we voted in Greg Abbott again. Gubnatorial elections are popular vote elections not affected by Gerrymandering. We didn’t even have THAT excuse.

That being said, I always said that the rest of the US should cut off everything Oklahome going South and Texas going East as long as they offered a refugee program for those of us not batshit insane.

The only thing that would suck would be leaving behind the kiddos who dont have a say in where their crazy ass parents choose to live.

  • Idk, after Tuesday, I started to get a little hopeful for the 2026 midterms. If we can keep up the same energy, we can massively slow down this fucking crazy train long enough to course correct or at the very least kick the can down the road (and hopefully use that time to install better minority protections/progressive policies)

But if we fuck up the 2026 mid terms? Oh yeah. Democracy in America is fucking DONE.
