  • Stop arguing with him.

Yes, it does. Now fuck off and do Nazi shit somewhere else.

“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

I don’t think it follows that the people asking you to reduce your AC usage are also the same people able to control AI power consumption.

We have got a stop treating our institutions as monoliths so we can effectively interact with the individual pieces that construct them. If you go into a place of power ready to heap all your gripes with the system on the single person who’s only job is to allow you to interface with that system, you’re not going to make headway.

  • So he basically hired a very progressive PR team, followed their lead until he got elected, then 180’d on all his views. After that, the progressives he hired started to quit, and he lost the ability to continue to project himself as a progressive.

Here is a pretty good deep dive on the situation.

He was elected while running against Dr. Oz so not like there were good choices.

I’ve seen this tactic before tho. Like the owner of the 76ers wanted to build a new stadium in Philly, but knew people would protest it because there are already a lot of sports stadiums. So he made a big push to advertise that it would be built like right in the middle of a neighborhood faaaarrrr away from all the other stadiums. Everyone protested THAT and after a few weeks the owner capitulated. He was like “FINE , I’ll build my big, expensive, tax break garnering stadium by all the others,” which is what he actually wanted from the beginning.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Fetterman was supported by Republican interests for a similar purpose.
