It’s been proven over and over that fully funding the IRS would be the most cost effective way for the government to raise money. Just the threat of the possibility of an audit will drive big earners to actually pay what they ow.
Well a non-functioning IRS can’t collect taxes and thus saves tax money for the common worker (lmao) of course.
I actually paused before hitting submit on my taxes. Like…given the fuckery going on, what are the odds that my tax return would even be noticed?
