Some commenters were unable to recognize the conventional meaning is inoffensive. They wanted to oppose misogyny by turning it into a dirty word (thus internalizing unimplied sexism into a general word for the entire gender). Hard to reason them out of that conundrum.
I’ll currently trying to find a place to move with a roommate using Facebook. (Dunno if there’s an alternative to find a roommate with a different social media platform) And there’s plenty of post that specifies females roommate only. Although, I saw this one post that stated male preferred.
