Today’s game is the Last of Us. I made it to the part where you try to get the car running with Ellie today. So far the game is holding up amazingly to my opinions yesterday. The clickers especially are scary. Usually Zombies don’t scare me, but it’s so hard to tell if they saw you or not so it can make it scary and lead to some really tense moments.

One issue i’m having is with crashes. The game will randomly freeze and just stop. Also textures are just… really compressed until they suddenly pop in. The second one isn’t too big of a deal though (you can see it on the above screenshot though on the Clicker’s t-shirt).

The enviroments are still amazing. I loved especially getting close to these toppled over buildings. It was cool seeing them far away and even cooler seeing them up close. We should start building buildings like this in real life, preferably with all the nature still.

After Tess’s death (which hit way harder because i assumed she lived for some reason), I was sneaking out of the Capital building and got seen by some guard’s. Luckily they only started looking but they followed me out of the building. They just ended up standing there.

I tried waiting them out but they just didn’t leave, so i ended up killing them and running. I wish i didn’t kill them though because i feel like it was a waste of Bullets.

The subway section was creepy, i kind of liked it though. The game showing the Spores in the air is really cool and really makes you feel like your in danger. I mean, you’re basically surrounded at all times and the only thing keeping you safe is a Gas Mask that could fail. I like the choice to go with the Fungal Spores, and as a bonus it gives me major I Am Legend vibes which is always nice.

I ended off tonight in the section where you meet Bill after falling into his trap. The section where you fight off the Zombies upside down is fun, albeit i did struggle a bit with it. Still, after the third attempt i made it and did the escape down the alley. I ended off in the diner as i felt that was a good spot to stop.

Making great progress! Bill is such a great character. He’s turned his town into a fortress occupied only by him. Sounds great until you realize he’s been alone for years. It’s less of a fortress and more of a prison and, with the way he talks to himself, you get the sense that the isolation is starting to wear on him. Even then, when given the opportunity to leave, he doesn’t. He’s going to die alone in that place because he sees trusting others as a weakness. Something he tries to impress onto Joel. But does Joel want to be like Bill? Does he want to be like Tess? Such a great chapter!
