    I mean… it’s not the same, but but humans have been selectively breeding fruit for thousands of years. IIRC we’re all eating the cavendish because of a plague that wiped out a tastier banana. And if you’re still hungry for crimes against humanity look no further than Dole.

      I used to bicker about this with folks. Gmo’s are the only food that’s actually tested for allergies, as far as I am aware.

      Granted you can’t get fly DNA into an apple with selective breeding

    Whats dystopian about this? Unless you specifically want brown mushy bananas quickly and other varieties are made unavailable or something, whose life is made worse by a banana that takes a bit longer to get to that point?

    I agree with others that this is not the thing making modern life a dystopia. Now heirloom banana varieties going extinct. that is.
